Home Inspection Fees

Home Inspection Fees

What is the home inspection fee?

What does home inspection cost?” This is often the first question asked of our home inspection company. Home inspection fees are based according to size, age, and various other aspects of the home.

Property inspection fees from a certified professional home inspector generally start just above $365. Aside from the time invested, the value of the inspection and report can be measured by its usefulness. If the inspection turns up little wrong with the house, you’ve bought some relatively inexpensive peace of mind. If the inspection finds serious problems, your Home Inspection Fee could end up saving you many thousands of dollars.

Owning a home is one of the most important investments most of us will make in our lifetime. A professional home inspection will help you to better understand the condition of the home you are buying or selling. That’s why house inspection should always be part of the plan.

How long does the home inspection take?

The amount of time spent during property inspection depends on the size, condition of the home, and most of all on how many questions the client has. The home inspector is there for as long as needed to inspect the real estate. You can usually figure 1.2 hours for every 1,000 square feet. For example, a 2,500 square foot house would take about 3 hours. Our home inspection reports will be emailed to the client the following day in the form of a PDF file. This way the home inspector has enough time to review all pictures and all comments from the house inspection. In addition to the emailed report, the house inspector will be available to answer any questions that the client has even a year after you move in.

Radon Testing

Radon is radioactive gas known to cause cancer. Radon moves through the ground into the home through cracks, expansion joints, other holes in the foundation such as sump pump pits. A radon test can help you decide if you need to address the problem.
